This tsunami happened in 2004. It was caused by a major earthquake in the middle of the Indian ocean. This tsunami like all others behaved like all others in deep water. In deep ocean water they only form small humps. This tsunami was a succesion of a couple waves. It went through the retreat - rise cycle every about 30 minutes. The third wave was the highest of all the waves. When satellites detected the tsunami it was only 2 feet high but a warning was not placed because they didn't have the technology. In this tsunami about 228000 people died.
Some other casualties are somethings such as coral reefs were destroyed by humans making the tsunami more powerful. Also people took out sand dunes and certain trees which could've the dimmed the power of the tsunami.
